Running training for beginners/intermediate/advanced – Tuesday and Fridays.  Mum-friendly and beginner-friendly.


About our Training 

Run to Lead LOVES beginner runners!!!  Our policy is not to flog you, but instead help you build your running base and confidence.  Our aim is to get you running in whatever capacity you need/want.

We also know that once you have been running a while, you may want more challenging sessions to keep you improving.  Our Tuesday training sessions will get you huffing, puffing and running faster.

We offer three training sessions – 2 x TUESDAY TRAINING sessions and 1 x FRIDAY RUN CLUB.  (see below)

Our Tuesday training sessions will teach you techniques and increase your speed.  Friday Run Club will build your endurance and is super social.  Join us for both sessions and see remarkable improvements in those Parkrun times.  Or come along casually for some regular fun, fitness and enjoyment.

TUESDAY TRAINING 

We offer 2 x Tuesday training sessions – “Early Risers Session” starting 5:30am, and “Post Drop-Off Session” starting 9am.

Our Early Risers Sessions are perfect for those wanting to get a run in before work, or out of the way nice and early.

Our Post Drop-Off Sessions are perfect for local mums in the Bardon, Paddington, Milton, Ashgrove area.  Just drop the kids off, get your run done, and get on with your day!  (Bowman Park is conveniently situated near many schools including St Josephs, Bardon Primary, Milton State School, Ithaca Creek etc.)

These weekly run sessions will get you faster, fitter and ready to take on that Parkrun, or 10km!  Our Tuesday sessions are technique and speed based.  They will give you the opportunity to stretch your legs, improve your running speed, and teach you about breathing, pacing, and how to tackle hills.  For our beginners, we will cover 3-4km in total, and for the more advanced 8-9km, including warm-up and cool-down.

The Tuesday sessions are a perfect compliment to our Friday endurance training.  You will see your fitness and running confidence soar!


Tuesday – Early Risers Session Details

WHERE:  Suncorp Stadium, Caxton Street end (meet Wally Lewis statue) (ample street parking available)

WHEN:  Every Tuesday morning

TIME:  5:30am – 6:30am


  

Tuesday – Post Drop-Off Session Details

WHERE:  Bowman Park, Simpsons Road, Bardon.  Meet carpark off David Avenue, next to clubhouse (ample parking available)

WHEN:  Every Tuesday morning during school term ONLY

Current running term finishes Tuesday 20th June 2017. 

Next term starts Tuesday 11th July – 12 September 2017.

TIME:  9:00am – 10:00am


  

FRIDAY RUN CLUB

Our Friday runs are slow and super social.  They will build endurance and help running become easier, more enjoyable and much more fun.  We cover 5-6km in total within the 60 min session.  Routes vary – Roma Street Parklands, along the river, or through the city.

These runs are perfect for beginners just starting out, as we always offer walk/jog option.  For those wishing to run, we average 7min/km pace upward.  The slower the better!  There are plenty of stops/drink breaks, and the coach will always run with the slowest runner/walker – no one gets left behind.  Where else can you get fit and discuss how to save the world, all before 6:30am!

The best part of Friday Run Club is that we start and finish at a local café, where the coffee is to die for!

WHEN:  Every Friday morning

TIME:  5:30am – 6:30am


TRAINING FEES AND PAYMENT

  • Casual $15 per session
  • 10 Pass (plus one session FREE) $120
